Being around 30-minutes’ drive from the main capital of Palma, it is considered too long a commute for most busy professionals and so tends to attract country-lovers looking for an authentic slice of Mallorcan life. That said Binissalem has good access to amenities with the larger towns of Soller and Inca being fairly close by. Binissalem is much busier during the summer months as it does attract some tourism. Although quieter during the winter months there is still an active community and shops open all-year-round. Binissalem is a great central location to explore surrounding towns and villages. You could visit the busy town of Inca, famous for leather goods, enjoy the up-market ambience of Deia or Sóller or take a trip to the beach resorts of Pollensa and Alcúdia. The pretty rural villages of Alaro, Lloseta and Biniagual and the market towns of Santa Maria and Santa Eugenia are also close by.
